ABSTRACT:
The effect of periodic permeability and periodic suction velocity on heat transfer and flow through a highly porous medium bounded by infinite flat porous surface is studied. The problem is three dimensional due to periodic permeability and variable suction velocity. The expression for the velocity, temperature, skin friction and rate of heat transfer are obtained by using analytical perturbation techniques. It is observed that an increase in Reynolds number (Re) and suction parameter (a) leads to accelerate the flow velocity. Also, increasing suction parameter (a) results a decrease in temperature. The skin friction and rate of heat transfer are discussed with the help of tables.
